Eighty-five percent of requests for Pension Fund services have been submitted online, via an account on the public services portal or the PFR website, this year. Most PFR services can now be received from home.
For instance, 82% of pension assignment applications have been filed by Russian citizens online. In most cases, pensions are assigned remotely with the applicant’s consent on the basis of information from Pension Fund databases.
Services providing information are the most popular. For example, it is possible to apply for an electronic certificate of the amount of the assigned pension via one’s account. This is also how information about pension points, work record and employer’s pension contributions can be accessed. Some 93% of requests for such information have been submitted online.
Online services are also relevant in the assignment of benefits to low-income families. The Pension Fund has received 91% of online applications from parents for monthly benefits of children aged from eight to 17, and 88% applications from pregnant women registered with healthcare establishments at the early stage of pregnancy.
Families with maternity capital can use their accounts to check the balance they could spend for the chosen purposes. Practically all certificate holders check this information online. Sixty-eight percent of applications for spending maternity capital funds have also been filed online.
In addition, accounts on the public services portal could be used to apply for benefit to persons taking care of disabled citizens. The share of online applications for such services stood at 74%. The Pension Fund has also received 89% of online applications for benefits to persons taking care of disabled children and people with lifelong disabilities of the 1st degree.
The account gives a fast and easy access to Pension Fund services. Full access to online services would require the availability of a verified account on the public services portal. It is possible to verify the account at PFR client services or multifunctional centers. Clients of certain banks, such as Sber, Post Bank or Tinkoff, can confirm their registration with the public services portal via online bank services. The list of banks where the account in the UIAS (Unified Identification and Authentication System) can be verified online has been broadening.
