The assignment of disability insurance and social pensions has been proactive this year, without applications being filed with the PFR client service or any documents being gathered. This is done on the basis of the Federal Register of Disabled Persons and information in the PFR disposal. Over 231,000 pensions were proactively assigned over the first ten months of the year.
Disability insurance or social pensions are assigned on the basis of information from the socio-medical evaluation bureau, which recognizes a person as disabled. The information is processed within five working days, after which a person is notified about the assignment of disability pension via one’s account on the public services portal or by mail.
A person who has not received any payments from the Pension Fund before needs to choose the pension delivery method. The delivery application can be filed online on the websites pfr.gov.ru or gosuslugi.ru, as well as at a multifunctional center or the Pension Fund client service.
Persons receiving pensions, such as old age pensions, at the moment of their recognition as disabled are automatically provided with a monthly payment by PFR. Its amount depends on the degree of disability. They also receive a package of social services, including drugs and medical goods, as well as health resort vouchers and transit money. A disabled person who does not need such services can be reimbursed with money either fully or partially.
