Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed the resolution launching the Single State Information System of Social Security (SISS). The document approves provisions of the system, defines its structure and the sources of information it provides, as well as the procedure of information provision.
The System whose creation and administration will be the responsibility of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation is a large-scale project which will make it possible to consider the entire complex of social benefits for all categories of citizens who receive state social support from budgets of all levels – federal and territorial subjects of the Russian Federation. Creation of the system will provide for more efficient social expenses and boost public awareness of eligibility and types of social support.
The SISS will accumulate and provide the authorities with up-to-date aggregated and personified information about social support rendered to the citizens. Availability of all such information in one source will allow the authorities to get the full picture of social services’ provision to all individuals, as well as to make decisions on what else is needed.
The SISS is funded by the Pension Fund and no additional funds from the federal budget are required.
